Anthropic has dispatched senior technical staff to Washington, D.C., to resolve a brewing dispute with the Trump administration over the company's advanced AI models, Mythos and Fable. The White House imposed sweeping export controls last week following safety concerns, effectively taking the models offline.

Rapid Mobilization Amid Export Restrictions

According to sources close to the company, Anthropic is taking swift action to mend relations with administration officials, who claim the company has not engaged sufficiently on the issue. Virtual meetings between Anthropic staff and White House representatives have been ongoing since Friday, with both sides expressing a desire to reach a resolution.

'Anthropic is committed to addressing the administration's concerns and ensuring our technology aligns with national security priorities,' said a company spokesperson.

The dispute highlights growing tensions between tech companies and federal regulators over the export of AI technologies deemed critical to national security. Anthropic's CEO, Dario Amodei, has yet to publicly comment on the matter.
