Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amir-Abdollahian has arrived in Islamabad for diplomatic discussions, as regional tensions continue to simmer. The visit comes amidst heightened hostilities and a growing geopolitical rift in the Middle East.
No Direct Talks with US Envoy
The Iranian foreign ministry has explicitly stated that there will be no direct negotiations with the US envoy during the visit. This move underscores Tehran's ongoing reluctance to engage with Washington on critical regional issues.
"The focus of the visit is to strengthen bilateral ties and discuss mutual concerns," a ministry spokesperson said.
Iran Executes Alleged Israeli Agent
In a separate development, Iran has executed a man accused of working for Israel. The individual, identified as Irfan Kayani, was convicted of "creating terror" and vandalism during nationwide protests in January. The verdict was confirmed by Iran's supreme court, according to the semi-official Tasnim news agency.
The execution highlights Iran's firm stance against foreign interference amid ongoing internal and external pressures.
