Military Operations Ahead of Schedule, Says Trump
President Donald Trump confirmed that the U.S. military operation in Iran is progressing faster than anticipated, with an estimated timeline of four to six weeks for completion. Speaking at his second Cabinet meeting of 2026, Trump emphasized the significant destruction inflicted on Iran as a key indicator of progress. 'We estimated it would take approximately four to six weeks to achieve our mission, and we\'re way ahead of schedule,' Trump stated.
'If you look at what we\'ve done in terms of the destruction of that country, I mean, we\'re way ahead.'
Criticism of Iranian Leadership
Trump also took aim at Iranian leadership, describing them as 'sinister, sick people.' He noted the difficulty in diplomatic negotiations due to the absence of key leaders. 'One of the problems they do have when they deal with us is we deal with people and the people aren\'t able to communicate with anybody else, because all of their leadership has been gone,' Trump explained.
NATO\'s Delayed Response
The President expressed frustration with NATO\'s delayed involvement in the conflict. While NATO allies have now pledged support, Trump criticized their initial reluctance. 'They didn\'t come to our rescue. Now they all want to help when the other side is annihilated,' he said.
