President Donald Trump issued a stark warning to Iranian negotiators Thursday, demanding they 'get serious' about accepting a U.S.-proposed deal as tensions escalate ahead of a critical deadline this weekend. In a Truth Social post, Trump described the Iranian negotiators as 'strange,' claiming they are 'begging' for a deal while publicly appearing hesitant. 'They better get serious soon, before it is too late, because once that happens, there is NO TURNING BACK, and it won’t be pretty!' Trump wrote.
White House Escalates Warning
The president’s comments followed a sharp statement from White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt, who warned Wednesday that Trump is prepared to 'unleash hell' if Iran refuses to comply. 'Iran should not miscalculate again,' Leavitt said. 'Their last miscalculation cost them their senior leadership, their navy, their air force, and their air defense system.'
'President Trump does not bluff, and he is prepared to unleash hell,' Leavitt emphasized during the press briefing.
The U.S. has reportedly obliterated nearly 90% of Iran’s missile capabilities in recent military operations, which Trump referred to as a 'military decimation' rather than a 'war' to avoid congressional approval requirements.
NATO Criticized
Trump also criticized NATO allies for their lack of support in the ongoing conflict. 'NATO nations have done absolutely nothing to help with the lunatic nation, now militarily decimated, of Iran,' he wrote in another Truth Social post. 'The U.S.A. needs nothing from NATO, but 'never forget' this very important point in time!'
As the five-day deadline to reopen the Strait of Hormuz approaches, the administration is intensifying pressure on Tehran to accept a deal. The U.S. claims its military operations have severely weakened Iran’s leadership and defenses, leaving the regime with little leverage.
