Top White House officials are investigating concerns that audio recordings of Situation Room meetings were leaked to New York Times reporters Maggie Haberman and Jonathan Swan for their forthcoming book, Regime Change. The Situation Room, one of the most secure locations in the White House, strictly prohibits independent recording devices, making such a breach unprecedented.

An administration source, speaking on the condition of anonymity, stated, 'We're afraid some of our most sensitive conversations were being recorded, and we have no idea which ones.' Verbatim accounts of high-level discussions, including Secretary of State Marco Rubio's comments on Iran, appear in excerpts of the book. Rubio reportedly dismissed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's regime-change scenarios for Iran as 'bullshit.'

President Trump is said to be furious about the detailed disclosures, which include discussions on Iran and the Epstein files. Haberman and Swan, who conducted over 1,000 interviews for the book, have declined to comment on the allegations. The White House has not disputed the verbatim dialogue reported in the excerpts, adding credence to the claims of leaked audio.

The book, scheduled for release on June 23, covers Trump's second term and promises to reveal behind-the-scenes accounts of critical policy decisions. The potential leak underscores ongoing concerns about security breaches within the White House and their implications for national sovereignty.
