Incident Sparks Tensions in English Channel

The Ministry of Defence is investigating reports that a Russian frigate, the Admiral Grigorovich, fired warning shots within 500 meters of a British yacht sailing approximately 20 miles south of the Isle of Wight. No injuries or damage were reported, and the yacht continued its journey uninterrupted.

No injuries or damage have been reported by the yacht, which continued its journey.

A patrol vessel from HMS Tyne visited the yacht to gather details and confirm the safety of the crew. The incident highlights escalating tensions in maritime routes near European waters.

The Admiral Grigorovich, a Russian Navy Black Sea Fleet vessel, has been active in recent months, raising concerns about Russia's naval presence in contested waters. This latest provocation underscores the need for increased vigilance in safeguarding sovereignty along national coastlines.
